2 Corinthians 5:17—”Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.”
What does it mean to be a new creation?
“To understand the new creation, first we must grasp that it is in fact a creation, something created by God. John 1:13 tells us that this new birth was brought about by the will of God. We did not inherit the new nature or decide to re-create ourselves anew. Neither did God simply clean up our old nature; He created something entirely fresh and unique. The new creation is completely new, brought about from nothing, just as the whole universe was created by God ex nihilo, from nothing. Only the Creator could accomplish such a feat.” From gotquestions.org
Ephesians 4:24—”and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
This new man is made in righteousness and holiness. Not our righteousness but rather it is from God, beyond our ability. We do not make ourselves righteous from our efforts or behavior.
Ephesians 2:15—”by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,”
To see things through God’s eyes is to see the truth about us. God sees us through His grace. He is opening our spiritual eyes that we may see this new creation as He sees us. He is removing the veil that we may see the new us.
2 Corinthians 3:18—”And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. “
“And we will never grow tired of taking in his beauty, because his beauty is infinite. For all eternity he will show us new, amazing, astounding, breathtaking, mind-blowing, vistas of his glory and majesty.
Why? Because Jesus died for us, then rose from the dead to make us who believe in him into new creations.
Someday we all will die unless Jesus comes back first. But because Jesus rose from the dead, believers will rise from the dead. We will have new glorious heavenly bodies. We will be like Jesus and see him as he is. In the meantime, though we live in this dying world, WE are right now, new creations. We have imperishable, everlasting life. The old is gone, the new has come. Jesus isn’t just sanding and polishing up the old you. You are a brand new you.” From oneplace.com
Lord, open our eyes that we might see the new creation in us.
