Righteousness and Peace Kiss

Ephesians 1:7–In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

Though there are many scriptures that speak about His grace but may not mention the word grace as in the scripture above.

Grace comes in many forms and in Eph 1:7, it is redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins.

Ephesians 1:8–which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

He has lavished us with the riches of His grace.  One of the facets of grace reflected in His word is: justification.

Justification and peace are linked, intertwined.  When we are justified, we are made righteous.  Justification is a gift.  There is no way we can earn our justification.  There are many scriptures that mention our justification so I will include just a few…

Romans 8:30–And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Romans 4:25–who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

Romans 10:10–For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

When we accept Christ as our savior, by faith, we are justified.  There is no condemnation and we are made righteous.

Colossians 1:20–and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

We have peace with God through His blood.

Isaiah 32:17–And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

John 14:27–Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

Romans 5:1–Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

What is the meaning of peace? We are no longer at enmity with God.  We have been reconciled. We are now in a tranquil state, assured of our salvation through Christ, fearing nothing from God, at harmony with God.  There is nothing to be afraid of in peace.  We can approach His throne, come into His presence and experience His peace because He has justified and made us righteous in His sight.

2 Corinthians 5:21–For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

When we stand by faith and have confidence in His justification, we enter His peace.  His justification of us is the foundation of our peace in Him.

Psalms 85:10–Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Lord, may you lead us to a place of confidence in our justification through Your Son, that your peace may fill us each day.  May the gift of righteousness and peace kiss in our lives.  We thank You for the many riches of Your grace.
